Robert Hyatt is revamping the Milly Building, which is across the street from the Courthouse. I love the old wood decor above the doorways and front window. It’s very intricate and unique. It’s also the original work, and was in such good condition that I had to ask if it was original or custom built.
Robert told me it’s one of the only residential buildings that has a name. Most named buildings are the large commercial buildings. It’s also the oldest wood building in the uptown business district. It was mandated that all buildings built after a certain year had to be brick because of all of the fires in uptown Butte.
I can’t wait to see what it looks like when it’s complete! Robert thinks it might be a great place for a coffee shop, with residential units above.
