Uptown Architecture

The light the hour before the sun sets is so beautiful. It’s golden in color and adds a lot of contrast to bring out the detail in the uptown Butte buildings.

This photo was taken from the hill on Main Street, shooting with my telephoto lens to get the compression between buildings.

A telephoto lens compresses distance, making the buildings appear closer than they are, and a wide angle lens exaggerates distance, making buildings look farther apart.
