Julie Arndt Buckley suggested I take a photo of the old A and W sign on Continental. I love this old sign! I wish I could take it down and hang it in my home! Did there used to be an actual A&W in this area? If anyone knows the answer to that, let me know.
I remember the A&W on Continental Drive back in the early 70's. It was the old car-hop kind where the waitresses would bring the menu, frosty mugs of root beer and food to your car on a tray that attached to the window. A&W then moved near the intersection of Amherst and Dalgren streets on the spot now occupied by the Oasis Casino and Restaurant.
