Morning Architecture
The architectural lights were still on at dusk as I photographed this scene of the Continental Divide OBGYN building on Porphyry Street.

I woke up this morning to the obnoxious noise of rain beating on my metal roof, and it doesn’t help that I sleep in a loft so the noise is just feet from my head. Then after awaking around 7 am I found the rain turned to snow! The snow has been dusting Butte all …
The Masonic Temple is a building which I would like to learn more about. If you notice the different pillars and arches, you can see they are different. I’ve been told they represent the different styles of architecture, sort of the “history of.” It’s difficult to see the detail in the arches from this photo, …
Here’s my challenge to you: Look up. It’s that simple. Look up. When you’re walking around uptown, look up at the architecture and take notice of how rich those old buildings are with detail. This photo was shut just after the sun rose, creating great contrast. Lately I’m drawn to black-and-white in photographs. It makes images with drab colors look a million times better.
Revisited-The Old St. James Hospital
This is St. Pat’s Catholic Church on the corner of Mercury and Washington Streets. It’s a beautiful church. I’d love to see the inside.
This aparment building is on Main Street to the west of Butte High School. I took the photo around 5:20 when the sun was going down. That is my favorite time to take photos, especially in Butte. It adds a warm glow to the already orange brick and shows detail because of the side light. …
There is a ton of ornamental detail around the Hennessy Building doorway on Granite Street. I was across the street zooming in to take the photos and had no idea how much detail was there until I uploaded the photos to my computer. The building was built in 1898 and the facade restored in 1989. …
